Our first few weeks

It was a little rough adjusting to our humble campsite, since the winds were blowing at 50+ knots for the first five days! See a couple of amazing videos showing the snow getting blown around: SNOW 1 and SNOW 2. Then it cleared up, and we had some gorgeous meteorite hunting days. We searched systematically, each on our own snowmobile, and found some beautiful and interesting meteorites! We were camped at the Miller Range, part of the Transantarctic Mountains, so we took some trips around the range looking for potential meteorite traps in the glaciers. We saw beautiful, snow-covered mountains, some refrozen ponds, vast, pitted glaciers, and the high granite peaks of Hockey Cirque. We had a few warm days, as you can tell by our lighter clothes, outdoor eating, and trips to the shower tent. More videos:
