Then came...the snow!

We felt we had gotten the knack of the search. We were confident, ambitious, looking to clear the whole Miller Range site. And then it snowed. And snowed, and snowed. It was a winter wonderland, stretching as far as the eye could see, covering everything in sight, including meteorites! So we found other activities to occupy our precious time. The holidays were upon us, so we put up the party tent, cooked, and had some potlucks. We had some ice movement poles to plant, which gave us the chance to get out and explore a little too. We drove into a few spectacular wind scoops, regions where the wind carved out the ice near sheer cliffs. With all the snow crystals in the air, we were treated to breathtaking displays of solar halos. We saw the wind blow the new snow into amazing duneforms that changed as we watched them. Oz built an Inookshuk out of ice blocks, and inspired me to start building an igloo, which was finished with everyone's help later. Our new playground became Iggy Ridge, home of perfect sliding hills and nice, soft snow! Videos:
