August 2014

The COSPARmeeting was held this year in Moscow, Russia. I hadn't been to a COSPAR yet, and I hadn't been back to Russia for 24 years, since my days as a BYU study abroad student, so I took the opportunity to attend. It was truly amazing to see the change to the city, from a drab, grey, poor Soviet-era city to one completely modern and wealthy, it was staggering. The meeting was great, and I met lots of talented space scientists. I enjoyed seeing all the sites, some familiar and many new, including the amazing Star City cosmonaut training center.
